The September Project Life Digital and App Creative team layouts are up on Becky's blog here
And here is my featured layout
This is using the Design A template and all of the cards are from the Midnight Edition and using a Just Add Color overlay. Everything was made in the app and only took a total of about 3 minutes to create from start to finish!!!
This was truly one of my favorite ever layouts that I have created. So simple but the pictures say it all. I love the black and white look and am considering doing an all black and white (maybe with splashes of red) December Daily this year.
Hope you like it!

More Project Life Updates
Trying to put this blog post together has made me realize I am HORRIBLE at remembering what kits I use on my layouts. I have searched my library several times and even searched online through a few of my favorite designers and I have yet to find the kits used for two layouts. I am determined to find them but thought I would at least post them for now.
February 2015
I used One Little Bird's Guppy Collection with some slight recoloring to fit the more pinkish theme for this month.
I made most of the embellishments digitally with some of the kit contents and cut out the February title on the 6x12 insert with my Silhouette.
March 2015
For March I used the Becky Higgins Midnight Edition Full Collection
I kept it really simple this month with some digital stamps and frames right on the photos before printing, and then a couple of stars and some Thicker embellies post print to add some dimension.
APRIL 2015
Using One Little Bird's This Magic Moment Journaling Cards
A little more dress up for this one using some Simple Stories and Project Life stickers.
MAY 2015
This one is killing me. This is one of my favorites from 2015 and I can't for the life of me figure out the kit(s) I used. I want to say this is part Ali Edwards and part One Little Bird, but I cannot find a single card from this layout in my library. Any ideas out there???
I LOVE this story about "The Guy," which is what David calls our landscapers. He was deathly afraid of them for a while but has recently come running when he hears "The Edge" outside. He jumps up and down and waves and says "Hi, Guy!" because what else do you call someone when you are not sure what their name is? I know these are the memories and stories I will cherish looking back on my albums.

Project Life Update
I am proud to say I just received my Persnickety Prints order of my weekly Project Life app prints and I am caught up on 2016 through last week!!!! I still hope to go back and add some physical elements some day but at least I have 2016 documented and in an album so far.
This made me want to go back and revisit my past Project Life layouts. I did weekly layouts for my first year in 2012, because it was also the first year of my son David's life, but found it overwhelming and switched to monthly for 2013-2015. All three years are complete and in albums also. It's such an awesome trip down memory lane! Even David asks to look through them every once in a while.
I never did post my 2015 layouts, so as a throwback to my recent nostalgia, here is January of 2015, using the Silver Linings Collection by One Little Bird Designs.

After David was born in December of 2011, I decided to
participate for the first time in Project Life for 2012 in order to document
his first year of life. You can read more about Project Life HERE. Also sometimes referred to as Pocket Scrapping,
it has really taken off in the scrapbook industry. You can’t go to any
scrapbook store or website, or even to Michaels or other craft stores without
seeing how pocket scrapbooking has made its way into our hobby.
I completed a weekly album in 2012 and am still soooo glad I
did! I know I missed a lot of details in my haste to get it completed that I
wish I would have included, but it is definitely something I cherish looking
back on. It took a LOT of time investment, but it was definitely worth it in
the end. I knew I couldn’t keep up with a weekly format long term so I switched
to monthly in 2013. So far, I have completed 2013, 2014, and half of 2015 in
this format. It doesn’t take an exorbitant amount of time, so I find that I can
get it done and not get burned out.
About a week and a half ago, I read THIS blog
post by Becky Higgins, and I have to say, it has reinvigorated my love for
Project Life. Even though I am happy that I have something in my albums as a
monthly representation of the last few years, I find that I miss the detail. It’s
exactly what Becky mentions in her blog post that I miss. If I had a scrapbook from my
grandparents, yes, I would appreciate the photos of them, their extended
family, and friends, and the activities they did. But what I would really love
to see more if their everyday little things. What did their kitchen look like?
What did they eat? What did they wear? What were the news stories that affected
them? What were those everyday conversations
and quotes? In a summary format, I get
some of that, but feel I miss out on a lot.
I have no idea if this is wishful thinking but I am really
inspired (after reading Becky’s post) to try weekly again this year. I am hoping
using the Project Life app can help with that and I don’t overcomplicate it. It shouldn’t be too
difficult to set a time once a week to complete a layout in 15-20 minutes,
right? I know my problem will definitely be overthinking it, so I have to remember to keep it simple. I am hoping I can
set a timer on myself and stick to it and whatever it ends up being is what it
is. Better in a book and not perfect than not documented at all, right?
I
played with the app last week and this is what I came up
with. Of course, I wasn't inspired until last week so I didn't have
enough photos to make the 1st-3rd into it's own week so I combined it
all into one.
Not too shabby! One
week already done and ready to be printed! My plan is to print them out and possibly add a few minor embellishments here and there to spruce it up.
And last night I also completed my second week and am all caught up! Yes, you did read that, ALL CAUGHT UP!
I love being able to say I am caught up on anything, especially scrapbook related
I love that the pages are fine to go in a book as is and don't need any embellishments, those would just be an added bonus!
I love the ease of use and how quickly I am getting these done
I love the Facebook app scrappers group for all of their help and suggestions on getting started
AND I love, love, LOVE that the journaling is being written weekly so all of the stories are fresh in my mind. Although I have gotten better about it with the monthly roundup process over the last year, I feel this fresh journaling and specific details are exactly what was missing from the last few years!
I think I am hooked!

Project Life - December 2014
Using the Merry & Bright kit
I used this kit for my layout for December of last year. I am really hoping PL comes out with some additional Christmas themed kits this year!
December is my absolute favorite time of year. I have used the advent calendar to make sure we have lots of family time and family activities. I can tell it's becoming Jonathan's and David's favorite time of year also because of all the stuff I plan for us to do. It doesn't hurt that it's also David's birthday, Santa's visit and Christmas all thrown in there too!
The photo in the middle on the left is David on his third birthday, holding a photo of himself on his second birthday, where he was holding a photo of himself on his first birthday. I hope to continue this for as long as he possibly lets me!
I LOVE this photo of David on the bottom left. This is the moment he saw Santa come through the door at auntie's house. The pure joy on his face is so priceless!

Using the Dear Lizzy Polka Dot Party Mini Kit
My step-cousin Eli and her husband had their little boy in October and I had the pleasure of shooting some of his newborn photos. We also went to the park and got to take some photos of David in a derby cap and vest and tie, something I have wanted to do since he was born! Thanksgiving was full of continued traditions with dinner at Mae Mae and Papa's house and a trip down their street to feed the horses. We also had a visit from Angel and Rebekah for the weekend and got to have an adult's night out!

Using the Aqua Edition
October kicks off my favorite part of the year. We have annual trips to the pumpkin patch and Apple Hill, Halloween, and the anticipation of the coming holiday season! David is also growing up right before our eyes. We bought him some bedroom furniture this month and officially transitioned him from his crib to a real big boy bed!

Project Life - September 2014
Using the Jade Edition.
As I posting these, I am realizing how horrible I am at noting what products I use so that I can give proper credit to the manufacturers. I am making a mental note to be better about that this year!
I started a photography class with Karen Russell this month that I am really glad I took. It challenged me to think outside the box and get a little more creative than I normally would. I ended up really liking the result!

Project Life - August 2014
Using the Everyday Adventure Kit. I was happy to see PL team up with Stampin' Up, especially when they offered everything digitally!
I don't typically highlight pop-culture or other events outside of our household. I think I need to do that more often. Jonathan and I grew up watching Robin Williams and enjoying lot of laughs at his comedy, so we were both saddened to hear of his death this month. It was one that I felt worthy of noting and makes me think I need to include more of what is going on the world around us in my album more often.

Project Life - July 2014
Using the Americana Kit this month, Simple Stories and American Crafts letter stickers.
The highlights of the month were getting to see David enjoy fireworks for the first time (he had never been able to sty up late enough before this year) and going to the state fair.
